Welcome Welcome to my blog! I love to take pictures, which is why I started my natural light portrait studio, Lynette Shavel Photography . Of course, I like to shoot all sorts of things, so this blog allows me to post whatever I find interesting. Clients might find a few sneak peek photos posted, but I'm just as likely to post vacation pictures or scenic shots of the surrounding Bucks County countryside. Check back often for new posts.

What a great afternoon for an outdoor shoot. It's unusual to have a weekday session, but the kids had off for election day, so we were able to squeeze it in. I was able to grab quite a few shots in great locations since the kids were so easy to work with. What an enjoyable way to spend a fall afternoon!

When life gives you lemons.... the saying goes. I had scheduled a shoot with the G family at one of my favorite spots, but got a call from the security office that I couldn't shoot that day because of a walk-a-thon on the grounds. When I called to let the family know, they suggested Tyler State Park, which was close to their house. Now, my family knows and loves this state park, and have spent a great deal of time hiking and walking the dog there, but for some reason I never thought to shoot there. Turns out there are so many great little nooks and crannies to shoot in, and the lighting on Sunday was that special, high cloudy but still sunny type of day. I will definitely be adding this to my list of favorite shooting locations. The kicker was that the same walk-a-thon was coming through the park about 10 feet from us the entire time we were shooting, with hundreds of people streaming by behind me. I can't believe the G family was able to keep their eyes on me with all the commotion.

Met the B family on Sunday to do an extended family shoot. The rain held off and the kids were great! I have such a hard time remembering names of people in large groups. I have to apologize again for and and all mix-ups...

I just have to thank the R family for being so cooperative in such high heat/humidity. It was incredibly steamy, and everyone, including the baby did such a wonderful job of hanging in there for our shoot. While this weather is typical in late summer, it is rather unusual for June. I'm so glad the kids could do so well!

When something improbably lucky happens, my dad will say that "someone must be living right." This afternoon I had a shoot scheduled, with some of the family coming from Flemington, and some from the Marlton area. I had been checking the weather forecast throughout the day, and it looked like the rain would hold off. Just as I knew they were leaving the house, the heavens let loose. Since it had been so hard to find a date that worked for everyone in this extended family, we decided to meet anyway, and maybe find a porch to shoot on. About 10 minutes before the family arrived, the weather cleared, and stayed clear enough for us to finish our shoot, then the clouds and rain were back again. After I met C, I realized she must be the one who is "living right." She was the one who arranged the shoot as a gift for her mother, and was as sweet and fun as could be.
