Welcome Welcome to my blog! I love to take pictures, which is why I started my natural light portrait studio, Lynette Shavel Photography . Of course, I like to shoot all sorts of things, so this blog allows me to post whatever I find interesting. Clients might find a few sneak peek photos posted, but I'm just as likely to post vacation pictures or scenic shots of the surrounding Bucks County countryside. Check back often for new posts.

I am so blessed to have a daughter who loves to pose for impromptu portraits. This is another shot from our weekend visit to Jim Thorpe a couple of weeks ago, and the great thing about pictures is that just by looking at them, you are truly transported back to that moment... the sounds, the smell, the contentment. Now where to store all of these memories, I still haven't got that one down, yet.

Took the kids to Jim Thorpe for a mini getaway this past weekend. Found this great door, and Rachel was happy to jump up for a quick shot.

Met the B family on Sunday to do an extended family shoot. The rain held off and the kids were great! I have such a hard time remembering names of people in large groups. I have to apologize again for and and all mix-ups...

Even though I make a pretty good effort to get my children to eat enough vegetables, we definitely fall short. A neighbor gave me this simple recipe for yams, and everyone goes back for seconds. Easy, healthy, and yummy! Peel 4-5 fresh yams, and cut into 1/2" chunks. Layer in 13x9 pan. Sprinkle one package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and 1/3 cup olive oil. Stir together until yams are evenly coated. (This recipe appears on the Lipton box, but is called oven roasted potatoes. Substitute the yams for the beta carotene). Bake at 425 for about 45 minutes. Yams should be soft and a little crispy looking around the edges.

I met a Girl Scout troop at Washington Crossing this morning to help them earn their photography badge. As I was leaving a large group was gathering for constitution day. I didn't realize there would be such a large Harley contingency, and this George Washington had a logo on the back that referred to a Harley group to which he belonged. It is a perfect day to go for a ride and hang out by the river...
