Josh is going to give container gardening a try again this year. Last summer I had such high hopes for my tomato plant. I staked it out front (sunny spot), watered it, and watched it grow. Just as the tomatoes were getting big, a deer decided he wanted the greens. He ate the leaves and stems, and spit and squashed the tomatoes all over the ground. It almost looked like the act of a rebellious teen, trying to get revenge. We'll see how Josh's strawberries and watermelon make out. We might try a corner of the deck and see if it gets enough sun out there. At least it should keep the wildlife away.
